Institute of Social Technologies

“Social technology” is defined as applying the use of social science theories and methods implementing related technologies for specific purposes especially social ones: to ease social procedures via social software and social hardware, which might include the use of computers and information technology for governmental procedures. It has historically referred to two meanings: as a term related to social engineering, a meaning that began in the 19th century, and as a description of social software, a meaning that began in the early 21st century. Social technology is a way of using human, intellectual and digital resources in order to influence social processes. It is a sequence of stages of social interaction (methods, techniques and influence), in the process of which each person who participates in cooperation, realizes their own management strategy towards others and forms social reality. Social technology is also split between human-oriented technologies and artifact-oriented technologies. This technological trend with philosophical implications uses all available knowledge and the digital tools at hand to transform society.

Such opportunities are provided by the Institute of Social Technologies which allows students to develop an understanding of the impact of social media, from the perspective of security, intelligence and cyber influence.

 

The Institute of Social Technologies involves students in research activities. The Institute houses: research laboratories, successfully functioning Scientific and Educational Center “Issues of Physiology and Physical Rehabilitation”, and a Training Center. The social and scientific activities of students are quite high and dynamic at our Institute! In recent years the Institute has been ranked as the first in the organization of research work of students. An International Conference “Social and Psychological Issues as Seen by the Young Scholars’ takes place every year.

 

The Institute of Social Technologies trains Bachelors in the following fields of study:

There are 4 departments at the Institute of Social Technologies:

•  ● Physical Education Department

High student results are provided by qualified academic teaching staff and close cooperation with major employers and partners of the Institute of Social Technologies: the Ministry of Education of the Komi Republic, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Komi Republic, the Agency of the Komi Republic for Physical Culture and Sport, which always show interest and are actively involved in the Institute of Social Affairs Technologies. Thus, in addition to fundamental theoretical knowledge, students receive strong practical training for a future successful career. Increasing demand in the area of the Social Technologies, makes our field of study prestige and well-paid among employers that allows our students to be confident in their future.
