ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Pitirim Sorokin Syktyvkar State University offers quite easy admission system for the international students. Our university accepts students who have a Secondary School Certificate. We don’t require any specific grades for admission to any course.   

Bachelor programs requirements:

•  ● For Medical, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Veterinary Courses, students should have the following school subjects:
•  ● Biology;
•  ● Chemistry;
•  ● Physics
•  ● For Aeronautical, Computer, IT and Engineering Courses, there are the following subjects required:
•  ● Mathematics;
•  ● Physics
•  ● For Agriculture, Art and Culture, Economics and other Courses:

Any specific subjects and grades aren’t required, BUT the admission staff needs the student’s Secondary School Certificate with detailed subjects and marks.

 

!!! IF students don’t have any of the subjects, written above, in their Secondary School Certificate, they have to join the Preparatory Department.  It lasts 1 year and after finishing this course, the students can enter any course to their choices.

 

*Admission for the courses is open from the 1^st of February to the 1^st of October at Syktyvkar State University!

**Admission for the Preparatory Department is open all year round.

 

ADMISSION PROCESS

Admission process at Syktyvkar State University goes in 5 steps:

1.  ● Filling the application form.
2.  ● Getting an invitation letter.
3.  ● Obtaining visa.
4.  ● Arriving to Russia.
5.  ● Completing the admission and starting the classes.

 

STEP 1: HOW TO APPLY

Dear Students,

Please kindly read though all the courses and tuition fees. As soon as you choose a proper course, you can apply online. Please, send us the following documents by e-mail:

•  ●  Filled Application Form.
   ● Copy of International Passport or ID Card (valid for 2 years minimum).
   ● Copy of Higher Secondary School Certificate (with subject details).

When we receive your documents, we will inform you about acceptance or rejection. In case you are accepted to the university, our administration will send you an Admission Confirmation Letter during one working day.

STEP 2: HOW TO GET AN INVITATION LETTER

To get an invitation letter, we require the following documents:

•  Filled Application Form.
   ● Copy of International Passport (minimum valid for one year).
   ● Copy of School Certificate (with subject details).
   ● Invitation Letter Payment – 500 USD.

Attention! Admission Confirmation Letter and Invitation Letter are two different documents!

Please kindly send us these documents ONLY AFTER receiving the Admission Confirmation Letter from Syktyvkar State University. You can send us your documents by email or fax. The documents should be scanned properly and easy to read.

When you receive the Admission Confirmation Letter, please, pay for the first-year course and a dormitory.

Attention!!! It doesn’t matter, whether you pay for education before or after getting visa, BUT payment should be done before the student’s arrival to Russia.

 

Students can transfer their payment for the Full First Year through Western Union or MoneyGram. Please kindly send us the receipt of your payment to inform us about successful operation.

 

The Invitation Letter issues by the Federal Migration Service. It takes about 35-45 days to give the Invitation Letter.
After receiving your documents and payment, we will send you the Original Invitation letter, Admission Confirmation letter and visa support letter by courier to your country.

STEP 3: HOW TO OBTAIN VISA

After getting an Invitation Letter from Syktyvkar State University, students have to contact the nearest Russian Embassy in their countries.

Visa Documents:

•  Filled Application Form (fill online athttp://visa.kdmid.ru and printed).
   ● Original Passport (valid for 2 years minimum).
   ● Secondary School Certificate (attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs or with Apostille stamp).
• General Health-Medical Certificate (not less than 2 months before entering Russia).
   ● Aids/HIV Test (attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
   ● Official Invitation Letter (issued by Federal Migration Services of the Russian Federation).
   ● 2 Passport size Photos (3.5 x 4.5) with light background.

Attention! In some countries Russian Consulship requires additional documents and their legalization! So, please ask the Embassy for proper visa documents in your country.

STEP 4: ARRIVAL

After getting visa from the Embassy, students can start buying tickets. Please, inform the university administration about all the flight details: the date and time of your arrival to Russia, the gates number. We will send our representative to meet the students at the airport.

Attention! If the student does not inform us about his/her arrival, we will not be able to meet him/her at the airport. And the student will be deported by the Immigration Authorities of Russia to his/her country.

PREDEPARTURE BRIEFING

While choosing the tickets, we kindly advise you to take into consideration the city where your university is located. Try to find a flight to this city, if possible. If not, don’t worry, the university staff will meet you upon arrival, help to get to the proper city and accompany to the hostel.

The foreign students can arrive just individually or with a group of students from their country. So, please, choose the variant that suits you most. Individual meeting will cost you additional 100$. And the price for train tickets for both individual and group arrival in case they come to another city and need transport.

STEP 5: ADMISSION AND START OF THE CLASSES

Upon arrival, students have to bring with them all original documents and Full First Year Expenses or Payment Receipt which says that you have paid the full first-year study and dormitory’s expenses.

Every student has to be registered at university in three working days after arriving on the territory of the Russian Federation. Moreover, the international students should sign the packet of their documents and Full First Year Expenses to prove their legality.

The staff of the International Relations office will finish the admission and registration processes in 1-3 working days and after that, you will be allowed to start the classes. The International Office will also extend your visa from the Home Office.
